We could see our ship from a high point where the ruins of an old hotel were. The views were wonderful.
The beach was very well attended and there were unusual platforms built for the food and drinks venues.
There was an iconic statue of Brigitte Bardot, the French movie actress, and Kate decided to sit on its lap. Some houses were built in the middle of the tropical forest, and their gates were carved with unusual designs. We posed with our driver and I couldn't resist snapping a shot of a Portuguese version of Kate's name on a kiosk's walls.
